The UP House Illinois

About Us

An Incomparable Antidote to Homelessness

The UP House: The First and Only Youth Homeless Prevention Campus

The UP House serves as a cornerstone of hope for young women facing or experiencing homelessness. As the first and only campus of its kind, our innovative and personalized program empowers residents to rise above life’s challenges, overcome hardships, and complete the education or training needed to build thriving careers and independent lives.

We believe that the courage, strength, and goal-driven habits cultivated at The UP House can upend generations of underachievement and transform futures. By breaking cycles of instability, we not only benefit the young women in our care but also positively impact their future generations and society as a whole.

Our Vision

To be the global model for innovative residential and support services for young women facing homelessness by providing a strong foundation for financial independence, physical and mental wellness, and sustained career success.

Our Mission

We UPlift women experiencing or at risk of homelessness by providing a safe, healthy, compassionate home and vocational training to support self-sufficiency and break the cycle of multi-generational underemployment and poverty.

Our Values

We believe every soul can reach their highest potential if provided the education and training, respect, sense of belonging, and encouragement to develop and fulfill their personal goals. We only staff our campus with individuals who take pride in helping others.

Our Board of Directors

It takes a village to change the life trajectory of young women who have consistently faced adversity. UP House directors bring decades of professional expertise, compassion, and servant leadership to the role. We provide an open, collaborative environment that facilitates the personal and professional fulfillment of having a meaningful impact on a young person’s life.
